From an early age, Kira has been fascinated with the way our environments impact our experiences. Growing up on Chicago’s south side, she experienced her first taste of the design world at the ripe age of six, when her mother let her choose the paint colors for her bedroom (pink + purple: a classic little girl’s choice). Since then, Kira has lived through the renovation of seven homes. Her first-person experience of living through the construction phase of multiple renovations gives Kira a unique perspective and appreciation for the joys and challenges in undertaking a successful renovation project.

Kira David Design was founded to help clients realize a vision for their space. KDD has helped clients throughout the nation transform the interiors of their homes, with projects ranging from simple redecorating to complete home remodeling. Before KDD, Kira worked as an interior designer and project manager for a Chicago-based home remodeling company. Kira’s clients rely on this experience as she helps them navigate the home renovation process.

Kira studied architecture and interior design, and has a background in fine art and classical ballet. She holds a Certificate of Interior Design from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and a bachelor’s in Musical Theatre Performance from Columbia College Chicago. Kira’s immersion in the art world has given her a refined aesthetic she carries into her design work. A world traveler, Kira is passionate for finding new influences and unique sources for design inspiration.

KDD designs combine timeless aesthetics with innovation and imagination. The result is a space that feels enduring, yet current.

Kira splits her time between the Boston and Chicago studios and lives with her husband and daughter Greta.
