Your entryway is essentially your home’s first impression, so make it a good one! It’s a space that often gets overlooked because it’s usually small. But by adding a few of these elements, your entryway will be not only more beautiful, but more functional and give guests (and you) a great first impression when they walk through the door!

Here are a few of our favorite elements that you can add to create a bold and memorable entryway in your own home.

Wallpaper

If you read our post on design trends that we love for this year, we LOVE wallpaper! It’s not an absolute must for an entryway, but it’s a great way to make a bold statement in a small space. Busy wallpaper in a large room can be too much, but in a small space, it can be so fun!

Another fun place to use a bold paper is a small bathroom.

Statement Piece

Is it just us, or does the front door become a dumping ground for things like keys and mail?! Having a cool piece that also acts as storage is a great piece to have right when you walk in. Instead of things collecting on the ground, have a designated drawer or catchall for keys and mail.

Lighting

Again, your entryway is any guest’s first impression of your home, why not make it a great one?! A unique lighting fixture is an easy way to update and refresh your entryway. A simple pendant is great, just make sure it doesn’t hang so low that the door hits it when it swings open!

Accessories

Lastly, you want your entryway to feel inviting. Adding decorative accents, additional lamps and a mirror are a great way to do that. We love having a mirror for those last minute lipstick checks before we walk out the door. A mirror will also help bring more light into small spaces too! If you have a very small space and need storage. Opt for hooks and a bench with hidden storage for boots, dog leashes and anything else you want nearby, but out of sight.
